After more than 5 years of existence, the LibreWRT project helped spark a new era of Free Software on embedded devices and raise the issue that there is a lack of Free Software in the embedded world. Since LibreWRT and libreCMC share many common goals, it makes sense for both projects to join forces.
Future LibreWRT work will be done under the libreCMC project name with the upcoming version 1.3.1 release marking the merge of both projects. The aim of this point release is to ensure all of the devices supported under LibreWRT are properly supported under libreCMC. When v1.3.1 is released, we recommend all LibreWRT users upgrade to it.
