Let me rephrase: libreCMC as no package feeds corresponding to the OpenWRT package feeds. > If you did just a little bit of looking, > you would find that libreCMC does have its own signed package feeds for > released images, but it does not include miniupnpd for security > reasons. There are packages which I have wanted to include in my images which aren't present in libreCMC, in particular the BMX packages. I've had to add the OpenWRT feeds to my build in order to include them. There are a number of free software packages from OpenWRT feeds which aren't included in libreCMC. > > It's possible to add the OpenWRT feeds to an existing libreCMC > > installation. > Don't recommend that people install non-free repositories on libreCMC, > especially on the mailing list! As it is, libreCMC seems quite limited in its usefulness due to absence of packages, as mentioned above. You're absolutely right, adding the repositories for distributions which aren't GNU Free System Distribution Guidelines-compliant totally undermines the point of using libreCMC in the first place. Again, the question that comes to my mind is: what is the point of libreCMC if it doesn't include all of the free software from OpenWRT? > If you don't agree > or understand the goals of the libreCMC project, please move on and use > something else! Could you explain the goals of the libreCMC project and how it aims to achieve those goals? In particular, the specifics of how you aim to provide free software packages from OpenWRT to libreCMC users? > My time is valuable and should be put towards fixing > other critical issues instead of adding more security issues. Other people's time is valuable as well, which is why I took the time to explain to Vicente how to work around the gaps in libreCMC's packaging. It would be wonderful if you could take a little time explaining things so that other people don't have to waste their time.
