Summary: EDITING with bullets and numbers
Product: LibreOffice
Version: LibO 3.4.3 RC1
Platform: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS/Version: Linux (All)
Status: NEW
Severity: normal
Priority: medium
Component: Writer
AssignedTo: [email protected]
ReportedBy: [email protected]
Start with an open document. Click on the bullet menu button. A bullet is
created, and the focus is initially set to start typing. However, then bullet
formatting window appears, and the focus jumps to that window. A user has to
click back on the original document next to the bullet to start typing for that
bullet.
when editing with bullets, one has to double click each line to edit that line.
The first click brings up the bullet formatting window, but the focus goes to
that window instead of remaining within the bullets in the document. The user
has to click again to edit the text in the bullet.
The same shift in focus occurs with numbers.
It is convenient and a great feature to have the format window for the bullets
pop-up when one edits a bullet entry, but the focus should stay with the
document and not shift to the formatting window.
I have been a long time user of OpenOffice, and just switched to LibreOffice
because that is what Debian (testing) provides. The described behavior with
bullets did not occur in OpenOffice. I realize they are two different programs
- I am just giving you my feedback. The loss of focus when editing bullets is
very annoying.
Thank-you,
Mark
