             Bug #: 42346
Summary: EDITING: Cross-references (numbered paragraph) in .doc
                    file are lost
    Classification: Unclassified
           Product: LibreOffice
           Version: LibO 3.4.3 release
          Platform: Other
        OS/Version: All
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
 Status Whiteboard: BSA
          Severity: normal
          Priority: medium
         Component: Writer
        AssignedTo: [email protected]
        ReportedBy: [email protected]

Problem description: Inserting a cross-reference to a numbered paragraph in a
.doc file appears to work, but the cross-reference does not appear when the
file is saved and subsequently reopened.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Create a new file and insert a number of numbered paragraphs
2. Insert one or more cross-references to the numbered paragraphs using Insert
-> Cross-reference
3. Save the file as a .doc file, close and reopen it - the cross-references
will not appear.

If you perform steps 1 and 2 above in a new file and save it file in .odt
format, it works perfectly. The issue seems therefore to be with LibreOffice's
implementation of the .doc format in this particular area.

Current behavior: cross-references are lost

Expected behavior: cross-references should persist

Platform (if different from the browser): Ubuntu 10.04 (Lucid Lynx)

Browser: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux i686) AppleWebKit/535.2 (KHTML, like Gecko)
Chrome/15.0.874.106 Safari/535.2
