             Bug #: 43179
Summary: PDF/A export of powerpoint slides gives "DCTDecode"
                    error on validation
    Classification: Unclassified
           Product: LibreOffice
           Version: LibO Master
          Platform: All
        OS/Version: Linux (All)
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: medium
         Component: PDF export
        AssignedTo: [email protected]
        ReportedBy: [email protected]

I've been encouraging the IETF to ask their authors to export all of their
materials as PDFs (specifically PDF/A) so that people on (m)any platform(s) can
view their presentation slides and other materials.

As a part of that work, I've been testing PDF/A export of various powerpoint
slides from LibreOffice and validating the results via an online validator:
http://www.pdf-tools.com/pdf/validate-pdfa-online.aspx

Nearly all of the exported files have passed validation, but one file has
failed:
http://tools.ietf.org/agenda/81/slides/idr-3.ppt

Here's the error I get from the validator (listed above):

----
idr-3.pdf does not conform to PDF/A.

Validating file "idr-3.pdf" for conformance level pdfa-1a
Error in DCT stream: Failed to create temporary file (null). (2)
The filter DCTDecode is unknown. (2)
The image's sample stream's computed length 116640000 is different to the
actual length 0. (2)
The document does not conform to the requested standard.
The document doesn't conform to the PDF reference (missing required entries,
wrong value types, etc.).
Done.
----

I tested the export with both a local build on Linux and 3.4.4 on OSX, and got
the exact same error during validation.
