Hallelujah! As simple as that, but still a tricky one.

I suppose I'll have to check on what the various spreadsheets I've been using
are set at. I've just 
set my finance spreadsheet from 1904 to 1899 (the default) and all the "errors"
come back to the 
correct data!!

Much thanks for your help - must confess I didn't think it was a manual
enquiry, just a bug. I was 
wrong!

It looks as if my Mageia installation (automatic) of LO was set at 1904 instead
of the default. I 
really don't know, but the important thing is "It is solved"!!

(I think you meant : "Menu 'Tools ->  Options ->  Calc ->  Calculate - Date':)
