Current behaviour is user-friendly, if you want to type new text. Perhaps inconsistent behaviour: Drag and drop a selected word includes also preceding space, see bug 141738 Cut a selected word, cut also the preceding space (see bug 139631) Pressing "delete" with a selected word doesn't delete leading space (this bug) Best solution would be, that preceding space is only deleted, if you press delete or backspace, but i don't know, if this is feasible from a technical side cc: Design-Team -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.
