The now default Visual mode for sm formula editing is not correctly creating
nodes when the "newline" element is typed into the command window with focus,
or when selected from the 'Formats' panel of the Elements SB deck.
Noted in either an inline OLE, or if opening the Math formula editor module.
Returning to non-visual formula input restores function for sm layout using the
"newline" element.
