I have updated libreoffice in the meantime, multiple times I guess Your suggestion about how to launch acrobat reader is 7 years old and don't work. I'm not even sure the navigation panel is the same thing as the bookmark window. You can always discuss who is to blame: Libreoffice for creating an empty bookmark section or acrobat reader for reacting upon it.
