Bug ID: 160508
Summary: The overall interface is very very slow on Windows 11
Product: LibreOffice
Version: 24.2.1.2 release
Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: medium
Component: Writer
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
Description:
I’m finding that the version is very, very slow. Scrolling is very slow, but
the monitors don't show any activity spike on the CPU or the GPU.
I tried forcing Skia rendering and it doesn’t change anything. I tried using
hardware acceleration only and that doesn’t change anything either. In fact,
hardware acceleration makes it worse.
Version: 24.2.1.2 (X86_64) / LibreOffice Community
Build ID: db4def46b0453cc22e2d0305797cf981b68ef5ac
CPU threads: 16; OS: Windows 10.0 Build 22631; UI render: default; VCL: win
Locale: en-CA (en_CA); UI: en-US
Calc: CL threaded
Edition Windows 11 Home
Version 23H2
Installed on 2024-03-13
OS build 22631.3296
Experience Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000.22687.1000.0
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open a document with a few pages (5-6 at least)
2. Scroll or do anything, pretty much
3.
Actual Results:
It is very sluggish. If I use hardware acceleration I see every icon drawn one
after the other and a lot of redrawing.
Expected Results:
Operate smoothly.
Reproducible: Always
User Profile Reset: No
Additional Info:
I downgraded to 7.6.6.1 and that one works correctly.
