Trying to create a "poor man's keyboard font" by putting a thin border around
characters with 0.05cm distance, the border looks quite "uneven" around the
characters.
The screen shot is magnified to see the individual millimeters (and allows
guessing the 0.5mm). IMHO there is no logical explanation for the extra space
above the "ascender". The boxes do not "look good". Maybe some extra option is
needed to ignore the metric limits when they are not used.
