Don't know. Showing just a cross hatch for a PS with applied differences (for
an applied LS) is kind of subtle to follow what nested styling has been
applied.

Also would note that in the attachment 193624 the default PS of the first two
list items with applied LS *not* direct formatting (done from the Ordered list
TB dialog), i.e. 'Bullet' and 'Numbering 123' List styles applied. The final 3
list items have the 'lower case letter' list DF applied from TB dialog. 

The difference between DF and applied List style are only apparent when placing
cursor into the list item and moving to the Stylists' 'List Style' panel.
Reviewing the Applied styles.  

Why should List styles be handled differently from Character styles, that is to
say provide a Spotlight feature for the List styles content panel.

I guess the same could be said for Frame, List and even Table styles--only the
Page style probably wouldn't benefit from a Spotlight feature.
