I got so frustrated with this, that I bought MS Standard Office 2021 for a
single individual, so I could use Excel. I've found the graphing features in
both LibreOffice and OpenOffice to be less flexible.
Also, I tend to use a certain style of graph for technical pubs. In all of the
current spreadsheets, I have to go through a lot of manipulations to make the
style consistent from graph to graph. One way is to copy the graph and reset
the data. But in one or the other of LibreOffice or OpenOffice, I have found
things disappearing from the plot.
I really miss Borland Quattro Pro with the 123 GUI.
I got good and fast with that.

1) I have found LibreOffice to run slower and slower as I put more figures into
the document. I used to write them in OpenOffice, then take them to
LibreOffice to get them into DOCX.
2) Libre, Open and MS all seem to have different inline special characters. I
can't transfer files from one to the other and have the mathematical
expressions come out readable.

Another reason I bought MS Office 2021. Then compared to MS Office 2002, I
found the MS Office GUI reworked to cut or cripple the things I depended upon,
adding a lot junk I don't need, with all the Help files available only online.

Not all changes are useful.
