It does sounds as elusive as bug 99225. Looking at the unzipped files, the
objects are indeed gone. Attachment 194387 has a lot of formula objects, which
is consistent with bug 99225, but attachment 194401 only had 13, which is
surprising.
It's also interesting that you think it might happen when files have previously
been edited in MS Office.

If you find a way to replicate consistently, please do let us know.

Maybe turning on the Backup feature is a good idea, if you are worried about it
happening again in the future (in Tools > Options > Load/Save).

Usually, after a crash, a dialog pops up when restarting, allowing you to send
a crash report. If you accept, it will give you a URL, which you can paste here
or in a new bug report.
