This is a request for enhancement, rather than a bug report.
Impress has a nice and rich series of animations. However, the default
direction is not the best for my purpose and I have to change it each time. For
example, when I add a "peek in" animation, it is by default from bottom, which
I almost never use. I would like to change the default to "from left" or "from
top".
At ask.libreoffice.org I was told that currently there is no way to do that and
I was suggested to file an enhancement request

which is what I am doing right now.
