Bug ID: 161835
Summary: EDITING: LibreOffice Writer generates full footnotes
in default Table of Contents (TOC)
Product: LibreOffice
Version: 7.3.7.2 release
Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: medium
Component: Writer
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
Description:
If I open a writer document in LibreOffice, enter text, and add a footnote with
text, then on creating the default table of contents with "Outline" checked
then "OK", the generated table of contents contains all the footnotes, with
their entire text. There doesn't appear to be any way to turn this off.
Footnotes appear with "BodyText" style, so there doesn't seem to be a reason
why they should appear in the index of Header styles.
Maybe this is a "feature" of the TOC generator, in which case, the TOC default
needs a tick box for "no footnotes".
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Make a new document and add text, including a few headings, plus a few
(longish) footnotes.
2. Generate a default table of contents without changing any settings.
3. Observe that the footnotes all get put in the table of contents.
Actual Results:
My table of contents contains all the text of all my footnotes for my 100 page
document. There are more footnotes than headings, and is it illegible.
Expected Results:
Table of contents without footnotes at all!
Reproducible: Always
User Profile Reset: Yes
Additional Info:
Version: 7.3.7.2 / LibreOffice Community
Build ID: 30(Build:2)
CPU threads: 8; OS: Linux 6.5; UI render: default; VCL: kf5 (cairo+xcb)
Locale: en-GB (en_GB.UTF-8); UI: en-US
Ubuntu package version: 1:7.3.7-0ubuntu0.22.04.5
To reset my "profile", I did a rm -rf on the $HOME/.config/libreoffice
directory, but it does the same thing.
