Bug ID: 162039
Summary: Pasting copied content into LibreOffice sometimes
misbehaves
Product: LibreOffice
Version: 7.4.2.3 release
Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: medium
Component: Calc
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
Description:
Pasting text that has been copied from other applications (Firefox, Notepad,
...) into LibreOffice (Calc, Writer) "sometimes" (not always) misbehaves:
* Instead of pasting the newly copied text from the other application,
cells/contents that have previously been copied from inside Calc (or Writer)
are pasted.
* This only happens when pasting into LibreOffice, but not when pasting into
any other application.
* Workaround: When this happens, you can reliably re-enable pasting from other
applications into Calc if you ...
(1.) select an empty(!) cell in Calc and copy it (Ctrl+C),
(2.) now copy the desired text from the other application,
(3.) and paste it into Calc. It will now work as expected.
This bug has been around at least since LibreOffice 7.4.2.3 (maybe even
longer).
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Select some populated cell range in Calc and copy it (Ctrl+C).
2. Copy some text from Firefox or Notepad (Ctrl+C).
3. Now paste it into LibreOffice (either Calc or Writer).
Actual Results:
When the bug occurs, the copied contents from step 1 are pasted.
Expected Results:
The copied contents from step 2 should be pasted.
Reproducible: Sometimes
User Profile Reset: Yes
Additional Info:
You can restore correct behavior by copying an empty(!) cell within Calc.
Afterwards pasting from other applications will work again.
