Dear LibreOffice developers,
When writing in a professional environment, publishers often have strict rules
for the format of submissions. Mostly that is easy with LibreOffice Writer.
But the exception is footnote formatting. A long academic document, like a
book, may have hundreds or even thousands of footnotes. When the publisher
says "make the footnotes in X font and Y spacing" one needs to be able to
select all the footnotes and apply the required format.
Please add a menu item to select all footnotes.
It is technically possible to select all footnotes, because the LibreOffice
extension AltSearch by Tomáš Bílek can do this. See my summary at my blog:
https://cikitsa.blogspot.com/2024/08/reformatting-footnotes-in-libreoffice.html
where I am basically copying the post by manj_k:
https://ask.libreoffice.org/t/how-to-select-content-of-all-footnotes-at-once/4063/4
This functionality is widely and repeatedly requested, as a web search will
confirm. Please bring this function into the main release versions of
LibreOffice.
Best wishes,
Dominik Wujastyk
