Description:
Currently, in LibreOffice Draw, the ability to apply rounded corners to shapes
is somewhat limited. The existing functionality does not allow for the
fine-grained control over rounding that is available in other graphic design
tools like Inkscape. Specifically, Inkscape provides the ability to round any
corner of a shape independently, and this rounding is preserved even after the
shape is modified (e.g., cut in half).
I would like to request an enhancement to LibreOffice Draw to introduce more
flexible rounded corner functionality, similar to Inkscape. This would include:
Independent Corner Rounding: The ability to round each corner of a shape
individually, rather than applying a uniform radius to all corners.
Preservation of Rounding Values: Ensuring that the rounded corner values
are maintained when the shape is edited or split. For example, if a shape with
rounded corners is cut in half, the rounded corners should remain rounded, and
their values should be preserved.
Use Case:
This enhancement would greatly improve the flexibility and precision of shape
editing in LibreOffice Draw, making it a more powerful tool for graphic design
and technical drawing. The ability to customize corner rounding on a per-corner
basis and retain those settings after modifications would align LibreOffice
Draw more closely with industry-standard tools and workflows.
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Create a shape (e.g., rectangle or polygon) in LibreOffice Draw.
2. Apply rounded corners using the available corner rounding options.
3. Attempt to modify or split the shape (e.g., by cutting it in half).
Actual Results:
The rounded corners may not be preserved or may not behave as expected after
shape modification.
