--- Comment #2 from ady <[email protected]> --- IIUC, the report is that in Calc, when entering into cell's edit mode, then "Format Character" applies to strings of text but not to numbers nor to formulas. Moreover, if you try to apply Format Character properties to a numeric value in the formula bar input window box, then the numeric value will be converted to a text value. I'm not sure that the Format Character properties could potentially be applied to numeric values in Calc at all, much less to formulas. Is that even supported by the ODF standard at all? Can this kind of Character formatting be achieved in any spreadsheet tool, with whichever file format? I believe – but I could be wrong – that having a cell containing numeric values implies treating the cell as a whole unit, which means that you cannot apply properties to _parts_ within the cell (even when those are _all_ the parts of the content of a cell). That would also be relevant for calculated cells (i.e. cells containing formulas, even when the result of the formula is a text/string). I would suggest searching for a Font type that is naturally less "condensed" or less "narrow" as an alternative (that would also be supported in other spreadsheet tools). -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.
