Bug ID: 162894
Summary: Some formatting buttons do not function inside a
table. Also, spell check doesn't work when changing
fonts.
Product: LibreOffice
Version: 24.2.5.2 release
Hardware: All
OS: macOS (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: minor
Priority: medium
Component: Writer
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
Description:
Issue 1:
The "Row Height" dialogue box has the "Fit to Size" option that defaults to,
on. This restricts my ability to reduce the size of a table below the
designated row height until I remove the check. Can you please have the row
height defaulted to match the existing font size and have the "Fit to Size"
option default to, off?
Issue 2:
None of the following 3 buttons function: Align top, Center Vertically, and
Align Bottom. When resizing a table's height, none of these three buttons
function to reposition the text within a table. The text is always left
justified and top aligned.
Issue 3:
When resizing the width of a table in writer, it is possible to increase or
decrease a cell's size by dragging the dividing line between two cells.
However, doing this causes all cells above and below the affected cell to
resize. If you could allow me to highlight the cells that I would like to
resize and allow me to drag only the one line, I would be appreciative.
Presently, the only workaround I've found is to split the cell then to merge
the offending partition into oblivion. The newly split cell will then allow me
to resize it independently of the cells above and below in the same table.
Issue 4:
In case you weren't aware, spell check frequently won't work if you change the
default font off of Liberation Serif or Times New Roman.
P.S. I love this program. Thank you for working to keep it running.
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Create a table
2. Type text
3. Click any of the following buttons and nothing happens: Align top, Center
Vertically, and Align Bottom. All text will remain left justified and top
aligned.
Actual Results:

Expected Results:
If a table's cell is resized, the alignment buttons should cause the text to
realign top, center, or bottom of the cell. They should work in conjunction
with the alignment buttons that move text from left, center, right, or
justified.
Reproducible: Always
