I asked about this in the dev chat and got this reply:
"generally, changing data outside would be bad. It's not a proper relational
DB, with capabilities of opening cursors, keeping context, safely synchronize
updates, having transactions... so I would WF that. We don't even have the
"Reload" item under File in Base, because that's non-trivial."

So I will close.
