Bug ID: 163108
Summary: Password protected PDF can be opened and modified
Product: LibreOffice
Version: 24.8.1.2 release
Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: medium
Component: Printing and PDF export
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
Description:
I opened a .docx file using LibreOffice Writer and exported as a PDF while
setting a password for permission. Except for printing facility all other
features are disabled.
After creating the PDF I opened it again using LibreOffice where it prompts me
to enter the password to access the file. Instead of typing the password I
clicked on the cancel button which allowed me to open and edit the PDF I
created.
If I enter a wrong password then click cancel it provides an error.
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open password protected PDF using LibreOffice Draw (created using
LibreOffice)
2. Click cancel on the password prompt
Actual Results:
Allows me to open password protected PDF and modify it
Expected Results:
It shouldn't allow me to access the file and/or modify the opened file
Reproducible: Always
