Bug 101958 is about Calc and the Quick Find toolbar while this is about Writer and the Find & Replace dialog, so I suppose the behaviour might be different. In any case, this would *not* be an enhancement as it is expected for pasting into the fields to work and it certainly works on Windows and Linux.
