            Bug ID: 163501
Summary: When linkifying text which is itself URL-like, suggest
the relevant URL as the link target
           Product: LibreOffice
           Version: 24.8.2.1 release
          Hardware: All
                OS: All
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: medium
         Component: LibreOffice
          Assignee: [email protected]
          Reporter: [email protected]

Currently, when I select a piece of text and linkify it with Ctrl+K or Insert >
Hyperlink on the menu, the default link target is the text that's in the
clipboard. This is not so bad for arbitrary text, but - when the text selected
for linkification is itself a URL (e.g. "https://www.libreoffice.org";), or
URL-like (e.g. "www.libreoffice.org") , I believe the better default suggestion
would be either the link text itself, or perhaps the "completed" link text,
with the https:// or other appropriate prefix.

I would specifically like to see this for email addresses, which typically
don't get auto-linkified. So, if I select "[email protected]" and linkify that, the
suggested URL should be "mailto:[email protected]";
