            Bug ID: 163653
Summary: Add No Character Style on Applied Style character
                    style filter
           Product: LibreOffice
           Version: 24.8.2.1 release
          Hardware: All
                OS: All
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: enhancement
          Priority: medium
         Component: Writer
          Assignee: [email protected]
          Reporter: [email protected]

Description:
When I apply few of character styles in Writer I like to have "Applied Style"
filter turned on. But on this filter there is no "No Character Style" pseudo
style displayed. To remove previously manually applied style I have to
constantly change filter from "Applied Style" to "All Styles" and back again.

My suggestion is, if at least some portion of text in document has no character
style applied then in "Applied Styles" "No Character Style" should also be
displayed.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open Writer.
2. In first line type: text1
3. Press Enter and type: text2
4. Select text2
5. On right site make sure side bar is visible and »Styles« selected. You can
press Alt+2 to get there.
6. On top click on Character Styles icon.
7. Now scroll down to bottom and double click on »Variable« style. Second line
»text2« word gets Variable character style and first line »text1« is without
character style.
8. On bottom by default it is filter »All Styles«. Click on it and select
»Applied Styles«.

Actual Results:
Now only »Variable« is displayed and all other styles get hidden.

Expected Results:
If we look at text1 in first line of text we know there was no character style
applied on it, so I expect on right side alongside of »Variable« character
style to also see »No Character Style«.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

Additional Info:
Currently I have to constantly change filter from »Applied Styles« to »All
Styles« to get to »No Character Style« and back to applied styles.

My suggestion is to add »No Character Style« to the list of character styles if
»Applied Styles« are selected and at least some text has no character style
applied.

NOTE: I see right clicking on »No Character Style«, there is only »New« option
displayed. But if I click on any other character style, there is also »Edit
Style«. My understanding is that »No Character Style« is actually not a
character style, but some kind of »pseudo style« and selecting it, it actually
removes previously manually applied character style from selected text. It is
more of »remove character style« functionality displayed on character style
list. This is quite convenient, but not really clear to the first look. I would
expect to at least this style to be in parentheses to indicate this style is
something different then others.
