Bug ID: 163820
Summary: Writer - opening file for editing from Finder causes
all menus except "File" to disappear
Product: LibreOffice
Version: 24.2.5.2 release
Hardware: All
OS: macOS (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: medium
Component: Writer
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
Description:
This has happened a few times now, but it is hard to pin down exactly what
triggers the behaviour.
Sometimes, when a running soffice process has already been instantiated, and
the icon is visible in the macOS Dock, editing a Writer document that has been
loaded into LibreOffice by double-clicking in Finder causes all of the Writer
application menus to disappear except for the File menu. The other application
menus are impossible to bring back, other than through a restart of the soffice
process. Whilst I've noticed this behaviour with Writer, I haven't tested it
with other application modules of the suite to see if they are also affected.
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Start an soffice process (e.g. load a document or create a new one), the
LibreOffice icon appears in the Dock.
2. Close that first document, so that only the LO application icon is visible
in the Dock.
3. Now drag and drop a Writer file onto the LO Dock icon.
4. The Writer file is loaded, however, the application module menus other than
File have now disappeared.
Actual Results:
See above
Expected Results:
It shouldn't do this, and didn't used to, so it is a regression.
The awkward thing is that it isn't systematically reproducible.
Reproducible: Always
User Profile Reset: Yes
