Do you mean, that your text content is larger than the box?
With the default settings that should not be possible, because wrap is enabled
as default and 'Shrink text on overflow' is enabled too. Could you please
attach a document that has such 'exceeds its dimensions'?

It is not clear what do you want the achieve with such copying. If you have
manually changed size or position of the content box, you can reset it to the
master if you reapply the layout.

Your problem is not clear to me.
