It is not clear how to do apply this to an existing shape. Help says

But I am not seeing this. I can only succeed by inserting the Rectangle,
Rounded shape which comes with the handle.

One can do this by drawing another shape and using it as a cutter. Right-click
the cutting shape, Arrange - Bring to front, place it over the shape you want
to cut. Select both shapes, right-click, Shapes - Subtract.

But now the custom shape is turned into a polygon. So I think it might require
quite some work to achieve Khaled's proposed results.

Let's show this idea to Regina.
