But that would create a whole new kind of entity in LO or at least impress,
which is a multi-slide box. That seems like a lot more work that allong the
marking of continuation relations between boxes, or lists within boxes.

What if I want to do this retroactively? i.e. I first have the two boxes, and I
want the second to continue numbering from the first one, while they didn't
have this relation before?  I think something like this is likely to happen if
one duplicates a slide, or just creates a new slide after the existing one.
