Operate with HH:MM formatted cells in a [HH]:MM formatted cell and the result
will be inconsistent.

Cell A1, HH:MM formatted, with content "24:01:00":
 you see "00:01",
 and in the formula bar and in the status bar "Sum: 24:01:00".

Cell A2, HH:MM formatted, with content "=A1*2":
 you see 00:02 (consistent with shown value in A1),
 and in the status bar "Sum: 48:02:00" (inconsistent with shown value,
consistent with hidden value).

Cell A3, [HH]:MM formatted, with content "=A1*2":
 you see 48:02 (inconsistent with shown value in A1),
 and in the status bar "Sum: 48:02" (consistent with shown value, consistent
with hidden value).
