IOW, it is not restricted to "Load/Save"->"General" dialog but also to say "LibreOffice"->"User Data" and most other dialogues. For emphasis, I need to add that on the SAME MACHINE LO 24.8.2 is WELL-BEHAVED, but only the LODEV 25.2 is MIS-BEHAVING.
