Summary: EDITING - Keyboard shortcut for insert date defaults
                    to Date (variable)
           Product: LibreOffice

          Hardware: All
                OS: All
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal

Keyboard shortcut for insert date defaults to Date (variable)

Alt i

Date (variable) is selected.

For the user who does not notice the word in brackets, me!, they have just put
in a variable that changes.

Imagine the fun when you go back to see when you wrote it.

Why we would want a variable date is beyond me, but it should not be the
default. Even if you do notice, it requires an extra key stroke, AND you have
to remember. Or you lose this sometimes crucial information. All unknowing
until you check.

[While I am here, how good would it be if the text in the About Libre Office
popup could be selected and copied. ]
