When saving a new document, if the file format is selected first and then the
document saved, then the extension seems to match the file format. However, if
an existing file has been already saved in one format and File.Save_As is used
to change the file format then the extension is not changed.
E.g. if a DOCX document is saved as an ODT then the existing *.DOCX file is
overwritten. Earlier versions of LibreOffice would change the extension,
resulting in separate *.DOCX and *.ODT files.
