            Bug ID: 164456
Summary: Check for updates incorrectly reports that LibreOffice
is up to date when it is NOT—LibreOffice 24.2 is up to
                    date.
           Product: LibreOffice
           Version: 24.2.7.2 release
          Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
                OS: Windows (All)
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: medium
         Component: LibreOffice
          Assignee: [email protected]
          Reporter: [email protected]

Description:
Check for updates incorrectly reports that LibreOffice is up to date when it is
NOT—LibreOffice 24.2 is up to date.

EXPECTED BEHAVIOUR: "Check for updates" should detect when the locally
installed version on a user's Windows 10 laptop is not up to date. If the
version is not up to date, the "check for updates" function should proceed with
offering the correct information about available updates and, upon the user's
request, with updating the LibreOffice suite.

OBSERVED BEHAVIOUR: Check for updates incorrectly reports that LibreOffice is
up to date when it is NOT: the "check for updates" report claims "LibreOffice
24.2 is up to date" even though the current version of LibreOffice is 24.8.4.
No "update now" option is offered.

CONSEQUENCES: Because of the reported behaviour, LibreOffice didn't update
automatically; and because of that, I (the user) must go to LibreOffice website
to download the current version and manually update it.

Today is 25 December 2024 and the current version is 24.8.4.
LibreOffice version on my 64-bit Windows 10 laptop is 24.2 (more precisely:
24.2.7.2 (X86_64)).

I am now manually downloading the correct current version of LibreOffice to
install it manually: LibreOffice_24.8.4_Win_x86-64.msi (347 MB)

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Open LibreOffice
2.Click on "Help"
3.Click on "Check for updates"

Actual Results:
Check for updates incorrectly reports that LibreOffice is up to date when it is
NOT: the "check for updates" report claims "LibreOffice 24.2 is up to date"
even though the current version of LibreOffice is 24.8.4. No "update now"
option is offered.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

Additional Info:
Version: 24.2.7.2 (X86_64) / LibreOffice Community
Build ID: ee3885777aa7032db5a9b65deec9457448a91162
CPU threads: 20; OS: Windows 10.0 Build 19045; UI render: Skia/Raster; VCL: win
Locale: en-AU (en_AU); UI: en-GB

I tried this 5 times in a row and received the same result.

The internet connection is not the source of this problem - I am connected to
100 Mbps internet, and it works just fine.
