The new at 25.2 View -> Page Layout implementation [1][2] does not currently
link to the corresponding view mode as present on the Status Bar.
Mode selection made from the page layout menu (Single page per row, Multiple
pages per row, or Book view) do not link to the corresponding entries on the
Status bar (Single-page view, Multiple-page view, or Book view). And
vice-versa for selection from the Status Bar.
Seems like they should be in sync.
