I agree that it is old behavior, but that behavior is simply wrong. Please re-read the initial post to understand one use case. In sum, a series of numbers is generated. Subsequently it is formated as text, and text is added to certain numbers, one at a time. For whatever reason, the column is sorted. We want the visual numbers to be sorted with those as (number + text).
