Bug ID: 164948
Summary: Newline Editing with Subscripts UI in Writer - MINOR
but might be a clue to something else.
Product: LibreOffice
Version: 7.6.4.1 release
Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: minor
Priority: medium
Component: Writer
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
Description:
Characters inherit properties including subscript from the previous character.
The inheritance can be overridden by selecting and setting new properties.
Newline inherits subscript, and reports this to the user in the glyph, but:
Highlighting the newline does not report its subscript property. Subscript has
to be set before it can be cleared. This may be a feature rather than a bug.
REAL BUG:
The first such newline, at the end of the line ending with a subscript, cannot
have the inheritable property removed from it.
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Can't reproduce subscript! = x Cosθ ω Cosθjk + x Cosθ ω Sinθhijk − x
Sinθ ω Cosθhijk + x Sinθ ω Sinθjk
2. Type a line ending in a subscript, space, newline. Forward subscript
inheritance and the glyph can be changed by changing the property.
3. Type a line ending in a subscript, newline. The glyph is immutable.
Actual Results:
When a newline follows a subscript character it can only be a subscript
newline.
Expected Results:
It would be nice to be able to keep added material safe from inheriting the
subscript property without needing an extra character to do it in.
Reproducible: Always
User Profile Reset: No
Additional Info:
Kill propagation of subscript property between the final printed character and
the newline, and present a full size newline glyph to report success.
Thanks for the work you all do to give the world a superb product for free.
