--- Comment #4 from Mike Kaganski <[email protected]> --- 1. Pasting as RTF gives the data in the Calc cells. If that's bad, you should be more specific what's wrong with that kind of paste. 2. It's correct that pasting from Word, the RTF format is not chosen as the default one, because we choose the format preserving the maximal possible amount of information as the default. There's no way to read user's mind and know that some data from an external program should be treated that special way or that; data from Word, *generally*, is textual by nature, and should not be considered tabular by default, even if it has a table. 3. There's also a way to import RTF directly into Calc. E.g., File->Open; in the file type drop-down selector (the one that initially has "All files (*.*)") choose "Rich Text Format (Calc) (*.rtf)" - note the "(Calc)" piece. Then open the wanted RTF, which will get imported into Calc, without an intermediate Word / Writer step. *Maybe* that method would give you satisfactory results. Note that you may avoid the selection of the import filter, and use a shortcut: open Calc first (e.g., create an empty Calc document), then from there, File->Open->choose the RTF. LibreOffice will use Calc's filter, because it knows you are using Calc currently. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.
