Bug ID: 165217
Summary: [EDITING] Alt + Enter after a number in a cell changes
its category from Text to Number
Product: LibreOffice
Version: 6.4.7.2 release
Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: enhancement
Priority: medium
Component: Calc
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
Steps to reproduce:
1. Give some cells range the category Text¹ (with styles or direct formatting).
2. Select the range, type some text or number.
3. Accept with Alt + Enter.
Actual results:
Cell category is changed to Number Standard.
Expected results:
Cell category remains as Text.
The issue is evident (by the alignment) when entering numbers that must be
treated as text (i.e., codes).
As a workaround, you must hit Enter (or F9) then copy and paste the value from
the first cell.
¹Notice that the Text cell style uses the category Number (not Text).
