Bug ID: 165218
Summary: paragraph style with pagebreak before / page style
successor using pair of left/right altering page
styles
Product: LibreOffice
Version: 3.3.0 release
Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: enhancement
Priority: medium
Component: Writer
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
Description:
I found an old scientific book where
# Heading level 1 is on altering pages: sometimes left / sometimes right.
# Heading level 1 is always on a new page without header.
# Header on left pages always repeats heading level 2 and has page no.
# Header on right pages always repeats heading level 1 and has page no.
Currently reproducing this requires manually adding a page break statically
using one out of a left/right sided set of page styles leading to empty pages
when adding text before this manual break.
I suggest the possibility of specifying a pair of page templates defined for
left/right pages instead of a single one being
# either the successor of a given page template.
# or automatically used for a paragraph template with automatic page break
before.
Writer should select the correct one depending on the side on which the new
page is situated.
Steps to Reproduce:
Variant a)
1. edit paragraph style: Heading 1
2. select Text Flow|Breaks|Insert
3. select Text Flow|Breaks|With page style
Variant b)
1. Edit Page Style
2. select General|Next Style
Actual Results:
Only a single page style is selectable. If this is one is "Right
Page"situationally a blank page may accrue.
Expected Results:
A pair of page styles should be selectable. As an alternative a check box
"prevent blank pages" might exist that, when checked, situationally forces
writer to use the successor of a given page style instead of the given page
style itself.
Reproducible: Always
