            Bug ID: 165269
Summary: Can't get page breaks and print selection and print
                    preview, etc, to work
           Product: LibreOffice
           Version: 24.2.0.3 release
          Hardware: All
                OS: Windows (All)
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: medium
         Component: LibreOffice
          Assignee: [email protected]
          Reporter: [email protected]

Description:
In LibreOffice Calc.

(We struggled for hours trying to do this. We looked on Help pages, etc. So it
is at least very user unfriendly or some bug involved. Some things on this page
i don't understand.)

Page breaks do not work: We can set them, a blue dashed line, but in many
tries the print preview or print pages only do it all as one page. In page
break view, dragging the blue dashed line does not change where it is or set a
new one, nor does sheet/insert page break show any blue line on that view
screen. We can see the blue dashed lines various places on the normal view
after we put them using sheet/insert page break, but the print ignores them. I
finally now found a place called "from which" under "range and copies" that i
can change to "all sheets" from "print selected sheets" to make it show more
than one page, but print preview does not show that, is trapped, and it is all
so very user unfriendly, unintuitive. We have used the program for years yet
struggled for hours now trying to do something that should be so simple.

And we saw no way to print a selection: The word "selection" is not even there
where Help says it should be under "range and copies", like programs usually
have the ability to print a selection. So we could not even highlight a part of
the page and print the selection (which also would be very good to appear on a
right click of the selection). But now I see "print selected cells" down in
"from which", not easy for a User to find.

And this was all after the horrible black dashed lines which we could find no
way to get rid of, would not let the print preview or print show anything other
than a tiny section of cells at top left. Even selecting the whole document
would not work. So we remade another sheet and copied and put all the contents
into it so we had a sheet without the horrible black dashed lines that somehow
were there, but then we had the above issues despite reading Help pages. Print
preview doesn't even seem to have a way to show the whole document or to get
out of the trap it is caught in from the black dashed lines!

And then we saw a blue dashed line turn into a black dashed line. And we
managed to get rid of one row-type black dashed line by putting a blue on top
and then deleting the blue, but other places we could not get that to repeat!
Also, the colors are so close, my dad could not tell the difference; i looked
real close to notice (on laptop).

PRINTING what a user wants to print, or seeing a preview, should be SO simple,
intuitive, and easy. And for horrible lines, just let us click a place next to
it and it can say, "get rid of dashed line next to this" and then user can
click to get rid of the horrible thing!

Happened in version 24.2 so we updated to 25.2 and it still happens. Tried
reloading program and document, running ccleaner, restarting computer. Windows
10 has all latest updates.

Steps to Reproduce:
I don't know other than what described up above.

Actual Results:
described above.

Expected Results:
should be easy to set page breaks, print what we want, see or set what we want
in print preview, and get rid of dashed black lines that cause such problems.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

Additional Info:
we had some problems in years past with bugs and lines that could not be
removed but reporting bugs in a way that is useful is difficult and time
consuming, so we usually try to wait for new version to fix things. Also,
remember many users can be older people and not very used to and good at
software like people who immerse in it and program it and spend huge times used
to it.
