This may or may not be the root cause, but I wouldn't be totally surprised if it got overwritten on version update somewhere. For example, I recently upgraded to 25.2.0.3 (on macOS), but it had stability issues in Base and kept crashing when switching contexts, so I reverted back to 24.8.3.2. When I did that, all of my previous database table grid view settings were reset to default.
