Bug ID: 165384
Summary: Impress UI: Activating "Display Grid" causes
noticeable graphics slowdown.
Product: LibreOffice
Version: 24.8.4.2 release
Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: medium
Component: Impress
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
Description:
Impress UI. The status of the grid appears to significantly impact performance
on my machine. When the grid is displayed, it takes several seconds to
accomplish much of anything in the UI. This even occurs in safe mode for me.
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open LibreOffice Impress
2. Click between slides on a presentation to get a feel for the timing. (this
works for multiple GUI examples including moving images on a slide and toggling
the sidebar)
3. Activate grid via View > Grid and Helplines > Display Grid
4. Observe long times to switch slides.
Actual Results:
For me, about a 2-s wait time between slides, and this computer is no slouch!
Expected Results:
Instant response.
Reproducible: Always
User Profile Reset: Yes
