Bug ID: 165444
Summary: Unexpected formatting when using Insert Rows Above on
selected row
Product: LibreOffice
Version: 24.8.5.2 release
Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: medium
Component: Calc
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
Description:
Based on the LO Calc documention I would expect the formatting of the selected
row to be carried 'up' to all new rows created when executing the 'Insert Rows
Above' context menu option. Instead, the new rows take on the formatting of
the row immediately above the new row(s). I have a simple date table with
formatted a column header row containing text formatted as BOLD and data rows
immediately below it with unformatted text and numbers.
This behaviour is unaffected by enabling the "Expand formatting" option in
Tools > Options > LO Calc > General
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Create a data table with a single row of column headers.
2. Format the cell contents in the column header with Bold text.
3. Immediately under the header row add any number of data rows using
unformatted text/numbers.
4. Select the row holding the first row of data
5. From the context menu select the Insert Rows Above option.
6. Select the leftmost cell of the new data row.
7. Examine the cell formatting of the selected cell.
Actual Results:
Cell contents of inserted rows inherit the format (and row height!) of the row
immediately above the new row, not the format of the cells in the row from
whence I triggered the Insert Rows Above command.
Expected Results:
That inserted rows (and columns) inherit cell formatting and row heights/column
widths) from the row or column selected when the Insert Rows Above or Insert
Columns Before command are launched.
Reproducible: Always
