You could install it in parallel to the stable version (https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Installing_in_parallel has an easy to follow instruction IMHO) and then test it in parallel ... ;) And now back to your bug: If I download your picture from comment 8 and insert it in a new Writer document w/ LO Version: 4.1.0.1 Build ID: 1b3956717a60d6ac35b133d7b0a0f5eb55e9155 with installed Germanophone lang- as well as helppack, LO shows a dialog <quote> This image is rotated. Would you like to rotate it into standard orientation? </quote> , where I can choose to rotate it or not. Did you get this dialog as well with 4.0.0.3?
