            Bug ID: 165639
Summary: Text layout weird - maybe shifted to Right to Left
                    layout?
           Product: LibreOffice
           Version: 7.0.5.2 release
          Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
                OS: Linux (All)
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: medium
         Component: Writer

Very short diocument showing the problem

Text suddenly went weird, and I could find no way to fix it.

I was editing some text and noticed the paragraph below had gone weird: the
period at the end was now positioned at the start, the last word in the
sentence appeared on an otherwise empty line below and at the right, by itself.

Using Ctrl-M to clear any direct formatting made no difference,
Using the arrow keys to move through the text moved the cursor in the opposite
direction to what I expected.
I suspected the text direction had been changed from L-to-R to R-to-L for part
of the paragraph.
I could find no way to see the text direction, and I could find now way to set
the text direction.
Google searches suggested
Ctrl+Shift+D or Ctrl+Right Shift - switch to right-to-left text entry

Ctrl+Shift+A or Ctrl+Left Shift - switch to left-to-right text entry.

I tried Ctrl+Shift+ (left or right) but the shortcuts had no effect.
The only way I found to resolve the issue was to retype the text and then
delete the weird text.

I was editing with Record Changes and Show Changes.

I attach a document with the bizarro text. It was supposed to say:

Happy sighed. This PalSpace thing was really getting to him.

But it appears in the document as:
.Happy sighed. This PalSpace thing was really getting to him

You'll notice if you position the cursor after the text
   two."
and move right with the arrow key, repeatedly, the cursor will jump back and
forth between that position and the end of the word:
  him

So the problems I see are (assuming it's a text direction issue):

1. No way to see the text direction
2. No way to change the direction
3. Ctrl-M doesn't reset the text direction to the default for the paragraph
style.

Addendum:
Ctrl+shift+A DID fix the problem, so it was a text direction problem, no doubt
caused by me accidentally typing Ctrl-shift-d
But not knowing that I had done this, and having no way to discover the text
direction, it was super confusing. Especially when the intuitive keyboard
shortcut (using the arrow key) had no effect.

Maybe this bug should be an enhancement request, for some way to easily see the
text direction, or for clear formatting to set the text direction to the
default?
