Bug ID: 165877
Summary: Cursor gets set at wrong position when clicking on
text
Product: LibreOffice
Version: 25.2.1.2 release
Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: medium
Component: LibreOffice
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
Description:
Most (all?) programs place the cursor in front of a character when that
character is being clicked on just left of its centre (0-49%), and after the
character when it is being clicked on jut behind its centre (51-100%). This is
actually the case for Writer too.
In Calc and Impress, as well as in text boxes in all LibreOffice component
(including Writer!), the cursor is always placed in front of a character, even
when being clicked on behind it (101%). Depending on the zoom factor, this can
look like one has to click onto the beginning of following character to place
the cursor behind the preceding character.
The attached GIF illustrates the problem.
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Write "OO" into any text field or a Calc cell.
2. Move mouse pointer to the end of the first "O" and click.
Actual Results:
The cursor is being placed in front of the first "O".
Expected Results:
The cursor should be placed behind the first and in front of the second "O".
Reproducible: Always
User Profile Reset: No
