It is very difficult to make a hyperlink to within a document with already many
headings or to a bookmark to a document with many bookmarks unless there are
only few levels of headings and the uppermost levels of them are numbered like
in the LO Writer documentation (which btw is a good example how to organize
large documents).
Creating a bookmark uses a nice UI which should be used as a boilerplate for
the dialog do set a hyperlink to a bookmark or to a heading.
The ultimate breakthrough to create documents with content with many hyperlinks
would be if there were a search function in addition.
In the attached file you will find a proposal for an improvement of the dialog
"Hyperlink".
To test the deficiencies of the current state, take any document with many
pages and many headlines and with many bookmarks.
