in version 25.2.1.2 you do not see the formatting characters (CTRL+F10), e.g. ¶
and text limits
both in the KDE and Cinnamon desktop environments

Steps to Reproduce:
1. CTRL+F10 or click on ¶ in the Standard bar
Actual Results:
nothing changes on the page and you can’t see either text limits or control
characters (e.g. ¶)
Expected Results:
see either text limits or control characters (e.g. ¶)
